Thailand Elite Visa Guide — Everything You Need to Know

What Is the Thailand Elite Visa?

The Thailand Privilege Card (formerly Thailand Elite Visa) is a government-backed long-stay visa program managed by Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It offers 5 to 20-year membership tiers with multiple-entry visas, airport services, and lifestyle benefits.

For property buyers, it solves one of the biggest questions: how to stay in Thailand long-term without the complexity of work permits or retirement visas.

Membership Tiers (2026)

Privilege Access (5 Years) — ฿600,000

  • 5-year multiple-entry visa
  • Airport Meet & Greet and fast-track immigration
  • 24/7 concierge hotline
  • Ideal for frequent visitors and part-time residents

Privilege Plus (10 Years) — ฿1,000,000

  • 10-year multiple-entry visa
  • All Access benefits plus annual health check
  • Golf green fees at selected courses
  • Spa treatments at partner hotels
  • Most popular tier among property buyers

Privilege Platinum (20 Years) — ฿2,000,000

  • 20-year multiple-entry visa
  • All Plus benefits with enhanced coverage
  • Government concierge for 90-day reporting and extensions
  • Best value per year for committed residents

Application Process

The application is straightforward. You submit personal documents (passport copy, photo, proof of address), pay the membership fee, and undergo a background check. Approval typically takes 4-6 weeks. There's no age limit, no minimum income requirement, and no Thai language test.

Elite Visa + Property Ownership

Many of our clients combine an Elite Visa with a property purchase. The visa handles your legal stay, while the property provides both a home base and investment income. Some developers offer packages that include Elite Visa assistance as part of the purchase process.

Is It Worth It?

If you plan to spend significant time in Thailand — even just a few months per year — the Elite Visa removes the hassle of visa runs, extensions, and immigration queues. The 10-year membership works out to about ฿100,000 per year (roughly $2,800), which many members consider excellent value for the convenience and peace of mind it provides.

We can connect you with authorized Elite Visa agents and help coordinate your visa and property purchase together. Just let us know how we can help.
